Basie to Miller, arrangers Nestico to Wolpe The Apollo Big Band swings with the sounds of the big band era while taking the best of the more modern writers in the genre. Based in Stockcross near Newbury the band can be seen regularly performing in public, keeping alive the big band sound with originals as well as more contemporary arrangements.
10th Anniversary Celebration
The Apollo Big Band was formed in January 2001 and now is probably the best amateur big band in the South of England. To celebrate its 10th birthday the band put on a concert to support the Newbury Branch of Parkinson's UK. A big thank you to all our supporters who helped raise more than £1,000 for a very worthy cause.
